Eastwood College provides an inquiry-based curriculum that fosters conceptual understanding for children aged 6 to 12. We advocate for a well-structured teaching approach with clearly defined goals, promoting inquiry-based learning, which is a student-centered methodology that inspires students to ask questions and examine real-world issues. In this engaging environment, students are actively involved in the learning process, enabling them to explore their innate curiosities.
-
To closely replicate real-world experiences, our elementary school students actively engage with their community for a significant portion of their learning. Their learning experiences encompass various disciplines to address, investigate, or resolve genuine issues within the school or their local and global communities. At this age, their "community" can include the school, neighborhood, friends, extracurricular organizations, or any other context where their actions impact others. We believe our children are not merely future citizens; they can apply their learning today to meaningfully participate within these communities.
As a result, students in our elementary school program frequently venture 'out into the field' to study ideas or topics in their authentic contexts. Examples include visits to fossil quarries, museums, ancient ruins, airfields, mountains, rivers, and government buildings – all aimed at reinforcing their understanding of a unit under exploration and acquiring relevant, applicable knowledge.
Students also interact with professionals from various fields, such as pilots, water treatment experts, mountain climbing teams, architects, authors, firefighters, or government officials. Engaging with these professionals enables students to conduct interviews or seek advice on addressing specific issues. There are no limits to the number of field trips our students undertake each year.

Eastwood College students showcase their work in science, math, and social studies on campus, presenting their projects to parents and visitors. Events such as Language Fair, Science Fair, Cultural Days, Math Rallies, Speech Competition, and more provide learners with opportunities to share and celebrate their abilities and knowledge across different subjects. Annual Spelling Bee and Reading competitions foster literacy, set positive goals for children to strive towards, and offer a platform for them to exhibit the results of their diligent efforts.

In addition to our in-school activities organized by the sports staff during the school day (gymnastics, fitness, football, basketball, put ball, baseball, volleyball, shot put, long/high jump, track and running, badminton, etc.) to meet physical education learning objectives, we also arrange out-of-school activities such as camping, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking trips. On the other hand, our after-school activities cater to the interests of our students, and we strive to accommodate their needs in this respect (dance, gymnastics, crafts, kickboxing, robotics, chess, etc.).

Upon admission to Eastwood College, learners from any background can adapt to our program. Whether they come from a French school background, an American program, or a typical Lebanese program, we welcome them and provide support to address any academic gaps. To progress to Middle School at Eastwood College, students must successfully complete all Grade 6 learning outcomes, ensuring a smooth transition to a higher class level. Achieving passing grades in all subjects is required.
